Yeah, we’re still living like cave people with everything fun and shiny behind fences, then when you get gate permission you feel bad using a car or van when that precious kero could be used for water instead of whizzing around at high speed. Particularly the van looks really in the present and feels really out of place with everything else at the moment. I love it, but the person in it seems like a time traveler...!
It's understandable that you didn't know. Walk away from town and quit the game. I personally curse afk players at a fire if they've been there for over 10 mins because I hate the drain of resources on them. Plus IMO if they're afk at a fire they know what they're doing.
The time needed is in the title of the game. If you're quitting early every life maybe its not the game for you? Life happens but you said you do it a lot so..
I’m not doing it every life, I said I had done it multiple lives. Multiple does not equal every. I’d say I’d done it 4 times this month and I play every few days, I love this game. Which is why I was a bit upset I’d been unknowingly afk!
If you want to be 100% sure that your body will die when you leave, you can step on a wild animal (wolf, boar, snake, bugs, bear) before logging out. You will definitely be dead shortly. But simply leaving highly populated areas is typically enough to avoid trouble.
Hope that helps!
Yes that helps a lot especially this bit, I’ll just be mindful of where I am and maybe making myself die in future. I just wish I’d known sooner, it isn’t really said anywhere and possibly why there are more afks when there’s a surge of new players and otherwise just dumb ones like me. Thanks.
I recently found out that when you quit the game because you have to go for some reason, even though you’ve stopped you appear as an afk person. I found this out because someone killed me saying they had me cursed in a previous life for being afk. Why doesn’t it have the same affect as /die or something? I feel really guilty that every time I’ve exited the game midway my character is just stood there being a useless drain on the village and that I’ve done that multiple times none the wiser. I know now in future that I need to dedicate an hour for certain. I’ve been playing for ages and didn’t know this.

I've several times made an outlying kiln for pottery work. It's nice being able to put the pottery close by and all around. An extra adobe (you can still make charcoal for pumps/smith), tongs, and firebrand are easy, no fancy bellows needed.
And if the forge is in a bad spot, you can often try to position it as a seed for a more spacious forge later.
That’s such a good idea! I’ll try that next time. I also like the idea of making extra charcoal. I know when I’m having to smith that if someone suddenly started bringing piles of charcoal for me I’d be happy.
What do you enjoy doing the most in your many lives? If it was an ideal play through, what would you do?
I love making bowls, plates, crocks and other stuff. I’ll spend lives going far afield gathering carts of clay and then just making tons for the smith and kitchen. It usually works best in a middeveloped town.
I wish we had a different machine like a kiln so I could be out of the way of the smith.
I also like scavenging dead towns and bringing much needed things back, I usually play with the zoom mod for that.
I’d really like to be able to use a bow on a horse or a lance would be fun! Then you could deal with attackers on horses, but then they’d be able to do the same to grief. But imagine lances, we could build jousting arenas.
Griefers could come back as lambs and have to keep on dying until someone eventually feeds them, haha!
Why do you ask us our opinion on things like this, you’ll only agree with the comments that like it. You’ll do it away if you want to. You don’t care what your playerbase wants. So threads like this are frustrating.
My favourite life was actually in that little off shoot village coming off San-Cal if you followed a road to, I think it was the west?
I made a separate oven from the main one. I made my own little pie shop and roleplayed being a sweet little old pie seller. I handed it over to my son when I got too old. But these days I couldn’t do something like that because I’d feel guilty about wasting resources and I’d probably get knifed for waste too. People wouldn’t stop working to role play with me either.
Oof. /sad
I never catch the beginning of arcs either, it always seems to be when I’m asleep or at work, and it’s only an 8 hour window to be an Eve which I enjoy the most. I just feel useless in developed towns. They have everything or have run out of everything. Then they steal from another camp. Then in your next life you’re in the one you stole from because there are very few families, so you’re in the same situation, but wait, you know where that thing you need is! So you have to backstab your old life family. Urrrggghhh!
I really like these ideas, especially the apple one, 1+ for a Fall update!
I’ve been helping out building the roads from the monument every few lives, I love the idea of the road network. I’ll start planting food sources too.
They used to be able to kill you and they still make the murder noise when you get hit so it’s possible people still think they’re lethal. It is a little annoying for some people. I think it’s fun though. You can throw snowballs at me anytime. Also if I see people building snowmen, I help.
I like the Style you went with better, it was pretty cute though apart from the freakishly long arms. Thanks for sharing.
1+ This would be so useful!
I liked being able to use the Tarr monument and rift walls as points of reference, also being able to find other people and families. I really liked the new peace feature because when you achieved it you felt like a hero uniting two settlements or two families in the same village making it so you could live without as much fear. Without the rift that doesn’t feel as important because the chance of running into anyone or living in close quarters isn’t as likely.
It was hard having limited resources but when you found them it was amazing! You were the star of your town, you were remembered and talked about!
There were things I disliked but it was also fun.
I actually like a bear cave in town because you can block it up to stop newbies/ trouble makers and over your lives control release and kill them and have lots of fluffy floors.
I’ve never seen them actually do that and judging from your reaction you hadn’t either!
I’d heard of loose sheep eating carrots but wow they have an animation just for eating them and everything?!
Wow Morti, I’ve noticed a few of your posts sound genuinely bitter and horrible towards Jason lately. We’re his player base and while we’re allowed to disagree with things and have our own opinions, you’ve been going a bit far. It’s just a game, take a break and calm down.
Bye Tarr, I’ll miss reading about your adventures.
To be fair, Lum didn’t realise their friend was a troll, it was a bit naive though. It’s a shame that hard work was ruined, RIP plane.
I’d love that a lot, even if it only lasted till say, my grandchildren died or something.
I’ve had lots of lovely fun lives lately! They’re all shorter than before though. I can never make it to 60 lately, mostly I never get to have hair, silly me!
One time I did get to be a grown up three year old, it was in a town and we had two different races and I was bffs with another little girl, then someone from the other race shot my mommy for being different, oh no! I’m sure it was an accident. She made a scary angry face though for some reason. My bff told me to run away so I quickly grabbed a basket of yummy berries to make me grow up big and strong and run away so I didn’t have an accident with the bow lady. As I ran, the berries popped out of existence out of my basket, they really made a popping sound! Wow! I didn’t get to eat any and I was sad. Then I got very tired and had to suddenly lay down in the desert. Maybe Jason was playing with me, he’s so funny! 10/10 game experience.
